Anarchists and Spider-Posession!
Cave ConcertsExcited to open for Canzoniere Grecanico Salentino one of Italy’s leading traditional music ensembles, hailing from the Salento, the heel of the Italian boot. This seven-piece band draws from the ancient ritual of pizzica tarantata, said to cure the taranta spider’s bite with its frenzied trance. Tarantism, the cultural phenomenon of trance and possessions, has endured to the present day in Salento. We will be playing mostly Italian anarchist songs with a little bit of Leone Ginzburg in there for fun. Dance, get sweaty and trance out!

Carlo Levi CoverWhat else?
Working on The Ginzburg Geography at UCLA went really well and we hope to be returning there in the Fall. Right now we are reading Christ Stopped at Eboli by Carlo Levi. We are listening to the Trio Lescano. We are drinking vodka with carrots, cucumbers and dill. We are considering wardrobe for The Ginzburg Geography, so if you are smart about clothes, tell us something.
